I wrote this song after going to Niagara Falls for the first time. Granted I have lived in Ontario most of my life and never been, and that my first time was in the dead of winter - I wasn't impressed. And it wasn't the fact I was so cold that I couldn't feel most of my limbs, it was the fact that here we are, in the midst of a MIRACLE and still we, as humans, feel the need to stimulate ourselves more with stupid fun houses, and casinos, and junk. There is a WONDER OF THE WORLD in front of us, and we want to go see wax figurines? in a haunted fun house? Can we not just find beauty in nature? in peace? in simplicity?

We took a day trip long ago, out we went into the beauty ice and mis
a temper roaring within.
Farther down we walked along, suddenly it came on strong:
What have we done? Why did we build distractions of sorrow?

I'm looking 'round at all these things, it's funny how I see
all these objects on my shelves mean nothing.
I'm just a small example of the things I hated and judged
but I can still tear down this fill and throw out what's useless.
